CORRIDOR REFURBISHMENT
Kensington at Old Mill II
The dignified corridors at Kensington at Old Mill II got a refresh with new carpet, wallpaper, paint and light fixtures. The result is an elegant, stately Georgian-Classic-Transitional look that suits the leafy Etobicoke setting.
After
Before
The dignified residences at 12 Old Mill Trail in Etobicoke didn’t need much help from us to make them elegant and stately. What the corridors needed was a refresh: a spa day and a new outfit.
Carpet, wallpaper, a new coat of paint and chic new light fixtures were the key to updating the space for many years to come. The result is Georgian-Classic-Transitional, and it fits perfectly in the beautiful, leafy setting of one of Etobicoke’s most admired storybook neighbourhoods. Folio worked with the Board from start to finish to select materials and carry out the vision.

Client Testimonial
Dan, Property Manager — “Folio Interiors delivered exactly what our condominium board envisioned. Their team communicated clearly throughout the project and completed the renovation with exceptional attention to detail.”
Design Approach
The building already had beautiful bones, so the design built on them. We kept the rich wood doors and panelling and put them on a new, lighter backdrop of soft wallpaper, fresh paint and patterned carpet. New light fixtures and brass details give the corridors a classic yet transitional feel. Working closely with the Board, we picked every material to suit the building’s stately character, so the refresh looks like it was always part of the original design.
Brass Candle Chandelier
Slim brass arms with candle-style bulbs radiate from a central stem and give the entry a classic look with a lighter, more current shape.
Gilt-Framed Mirror
A long mirror in a gold frame hangs above the panelling, reflects the chandelier and wood doors and makes the hall feel deeper.
Tray Ceiling With Crown Moulding
Layered crown moulding frames a recessed ceiling and adds depth overhead, with a small downlight set into the edge.
