Mississauga’s Clarkson village is the location for this high-rise condo building which is one of the more unique buildings we worked in. The residents wished to keep the historic dark brick arches while modernizing everything else (including the 70’s stone fireplace!). This sprawling lobby and library received special attention and highly customized solutions from leveling the floor to bring accessibility which the sunken seating area did not allow, carefully replacing asbestos ceiling material and building a new parcel zone off the large mail area. Many challenges were met in this transformation as is generally the case with older spaces. Now, the space has an industrial and mid century style which celebrates its heritage and brings much needed utility to its residents.
