Project Description

Movement/Rhythm

When different elements of interior design have a connected movement, the term “rhythm” is used.

Since a living space can be comprised of several elements that have different visual weights, a visual tempo is necessary within the room. Rhythm creates this visual tempo by introducing spaces between elements that are repeated in an orderly fashion.

Quick Reference

Incorporating different elements in an arranged manner is completed with the use of rhythm. Three methods can be used to achieve rhythm in any living space:

  • Repetition: Repeating physical attributes in an orderly way.
  • Alternation: Alternating two or more elements in a certain order.
  • Progression: Arranging elements in ascending or descending order based on a distinctive characteristic.
