CORRIDOR REFURBISHMENT

X2 Condos

The corridors of this East Side downtown condominium were refurbished with a continuous, high-quality carpet that has as few seams as possible. The result is a warm, sophisticated look that took our most challenging carpet lay to date.

After

X2 Condos is a beautifully designed building on the East side of downtown Toronto, with a sophisticated and warm colour palette. The corridors had a challenge: the carpet was laid to work around many turns, corners and joints, in a two-tone design that looked pleasing.

That earlier approach needed borders with too many cuts and vulnerable seams. The Board wanted a continuous look with excellent quality carpet and as few seams as possible. This was our most challenging carpet lay to date, and we think the results are striking.

  • Corridor carpet replacement with a continuous two-tone pattern
  • Planning the layout around turns, corners and joints
  • Minimizing seams and cuts for a clean, durable finish
  • Matching the finishes to the building’s warm colour palette
  • Continuous carpet look with as few seams as possible
  • Bold two-tone geometric pattern that hides wear in a high-traffic corridor
  • Fewer cuts and weak seams than the previous border approach
  • Layout that handles every turn and corner cleanly
  • Warm, sophisticated palette with grey walls and bronze-toned door frames
  • Our most challenging carpet lay to date

Client Testimonial

Design Approach

The Board wanted a corridor that looks continuous and holds up to daily use. We planned the carpet layout around every turn, corner and joint so the pattern flows from one end of the hall to the other without a border. Choosing a high-quality two-tone carpet in a geometric pattern gave the corridors depth and character, and helped hide wear. The warm greys, soft lighting and bronze-toned doors give the hallways a polished, hotel-like feel.
